Our Refugee Ministry helps to resettle legal refugee families that come to Unites States through different humanitarian agencies. This resettlement program includes finding housing for the families, furnishing their new home, stocking the pantry, providing appropriate seasonal clothing, assisting with transportation,  subsidizing utilities, navigating government assistance programs such as food stamps, insurance, enrolling children and adults in school and ESL classes, assisting with translation, doctor’s visits, job search, cultural assimilation,  and many other basic needs.   

To date Refugee Ministry has helped to resettle over 60 refugee families in the Bay Area through the generous donations of church members and volunteers who devoted both time and financial resources. 

More and more refugees are coming to resettle in our own neighborhoods from countries like Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Russia, Burundi, Burma, and the Congo.  Some speak English, but most do not. The majority of them are Muslim, and have lived through terrible trauma and persecution while escaping their countries. Many of them came here alone with nothing but a suitcase.
